Toshiba launches new Satellite P20

Toshiba Corp. has announced new enhancements to its range of Satellite P20 notebooks, which, it says, now feature an integration of stereo and PC capabilities in one notebook.
The Satellite P20 series, available from Rectron, also comes equipped with nVidia Corp.'s latest GeForce FX Go5700 graphics, which aim to deliver high calibre video, enhanced graphics and multimedia features, therefore, offering theatre-quality images when playing video games or watching movies, the company says.
Also, built-in Harmon/Kardon speakers and SRS TruSurround XT technology enable high quality audio, Toshiba adds.
"The P20 series is the ideal replacement system for users who need a portable PC without sacrificing the performance of a desktop computer," comment André Rossouw, Toshiba product manager at Rectron. "With its 17-inch wide-screen display and high-quality graphics, the Satellite P20 series is ideal for watching movies, playing video games or multi-tasking in several windows at once."
Toshiba adds that the Satellite P20 also features Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b and g) as well as DVD+RW functionality - one of the first notebooks to offer a Dual DVD writer.
Rossouw comments: "The Satellite P20 is the ultimate digital convergence of home entertainment, multimedia functionality and business features combined in a mobile computing platform."
