Out of the blue

Last year, Patrick Weaver, director at Micro Planning International (MPI), thought of Bavaria as an exotic part of Germany. This year he was manning a stall at PC96 for ACOS, a German software developer. Weaver's partnership with the Bavarian-based company started with a phone call that came "right out of the blue". Now as its sole Australian distributor, Weaver is promoting the Project Management Software, ACOS PLUS.1 and ACOS Compact, to resellers.

Weaver deals with two types of resellers. Specialist technical resellers are called in to implement a project management plan for clients, using ACOS software and offering support once the software is installed. The other way the software gets to the customer is through the retail channel. Customers can walk into a shop, see a boxed product and take it away with them. In these cases, resellers are not expected to provide long-term support to the customer; Micro Planning looks after this.

According to Weaver, response to his com-pany's presence at PC96 was excellent. "We had an extremely good response to our products, and we'll certainly come again," he said.

Interested resellers can contact Micro Planning Tel: (07) 3841 1600 Fax: (07) 3341 6361
