Salesforce has confirmed it is shedding some positions that no longer “map to our business priorities” as it works to redirect resources internally.
“We’re reallocating resources to position the company for continued growth,” a spokesperson told ARN. “This includes continuing to hire and redirecting some employees to fuel our strategic areas, and eliminating some positions that no longer map to our business priorities.
“For affected employees, we are helping them find the next step in their careers, whether within our company or a new opportunity,” the spokesperson said.
At the time of writing, there had been no indication as to how the cuts may affect the vendor’s headcount in Australia and New Zealand.
The move comes as the cloud software vendor reports a 29 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue for its second quarter, to US$5.15 billion.
The company released its latest quarterly financials on 25 August, with a 29 per cent year-on-year increase in subscription and support revenues for the quarter, to US$4.84 billion. Professional services and other revenues for the quarter were US$0.31 billion, an increase of 23 per cent year-over-year.

As reported by ARN in July, Salesforce's revenue and profits in A/NZ for 2019 soared in a year that saw the CRM giant make some of its biggest acquisitions in its history.
This was according to the annual financial report for the year ending 31 January filed by SFDC Australia Pty Ltd, the corporate entity that handles the sales, marketing and technical support services of Salesforce products in the local market, and which includes SFDC Australia's New Zealand branch.
For the year ended 31 January 2020, the company's revenue, which includes that of New Zealand, hit A$520 million, a 215 per cent rise from A$164 million the year before.
