Telesmart signs up with Dicker Data for NZ distribution

A broader Australasian distribution opportunity beckons

Telesmart has inked an agreement with Dicker Data NZ to distribute its Cloud Calling for Microsoft Teams product.

Dicker Data is one of New Zealand’s largest Microsoft 365 cloud distributors and therefore provides significant growth opportunities for Cloud Calling for Microsoft Teams through its integrator network.

However, the opportunity could be broader as ASX-listed Dicker Data could also open the door to a much larger Australian market. 

Cloud Calling for Microsoft Team, launched late last year, enables external voice connectivity from within the Teams environment, delivering high call quality, caller comfort and customer continuity features such as easy porting of customers’ existing phone numbers. 

The improved market access Dicker Data provides complements Telesmart’s existing direct relationships with integrators and end users.

“Our distribution agreement means Cloud Calling for Microsoft Teams will be easier for customers to procure through their existing relationship with Dicker Data and opens up new opportunities for us as Dicker Data can offer Cloud Calling for Microsoft Teams along with other Microsoft Products," Telesmart managing director Nigel Barker said.

Enabling external calling requires no investment in equipment and poses no downtime risk to client’s businesses, Telesmart said at last year's launch.

Telesmart’s enterprise version, Enterprise Connect Cloud Calling for Microsoft Teams, integrates Teams into an existing voice platform. 

This enables the easy migration of users for collaboration and external calling, while maintaining the existing enterprise voice platform for advanced and bespoke functionality.

Telesmart CTO Geof Robinson said installing direct route for Microsoft Teams was the easy part of the development project.

"Getting the back-end infrastructure right, making sure the 365 tenancy is set up correctly, making it supportable and adding functionality to Teams so that caller experience is great, was where the hard work on this project was done," he said.
