Kiwibank is appointing a new chief digital and technology officer, Hamish Rumbold, who will join the bank from ClearPoint in August.

ClearPoint is a New Zealand digital experience and engineering firm, while Rumbold also previously led Air New Zealand’s global digital distribution channels, digital marketing capability and customer facing technology.

This included leading the platform and product development of customer-facing technologies including the website, the Air New Zealand app, artificial intelligence, in-flight wi-fi connectivity and more.

Rumbold is also a director at Fidelity Life and at a tech start-up called Fresho.

Kiwibank chief executive officer Steve Jurkovich said Rumbold's career showed great understanding of how technology can transform the experience of customers.

"He has a proven track history of bringing the best combination of people, process and technology together," Jurkovich said.

“Technology will play a key part in Kiwibank’s success. We searched both locally and overseas and considered a fantastic range of candidates."

Rumbold has lived and worked in New Zealand, the UK, India, and South America and has experience across aviation, retail banking, retail, FMCG, automotive and telecommunications industries.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
