Veeam has appointed Janet Docherty as head of channel sales for Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to A/NZ vice president Gary Mitchell, Docherty will be responsible for leading Veeam’s regional channel team, working with a network of more than 1,000 resellers and distributors.
As well as increasing revenue through channel partnerships, Docherty will also help drive Veeam’s “ambition” to deliver cloud data management solutions to businesses across the region, the vendor said.
Her appointment follows predecessor Belinda Jurisic’s promotion to the newly-created role of Asia Pacific and Japan channel director, which she will oversee from Singapore.
Docherty joins the back-up storage vendor from Veritas, where she spent four years in senior channel sales roles. Prior to then, she spent eight years at Symantec and three at Data#3 during a two-decade IT career.
“I’m honoured to be joining the Veeam team and leading the A/NZ channel team to success,” she said. “I’m impressed by the growth that Veeam has seen over the past few years, not only in market but across the globe. I am excited to be driving this in A/NZ.”
Veeam’s senior vice president for APJ Shaun McLagan said it was an “exciting” period for the vendor, adding that Docherty will be “instrumental” to the company’s growth.
During FY18, Veeam posted 36 per cent growth in APJ - the highest globally - alongside 32 per cent growth in Australia and New Zealand.
