Kaspersky Lab drops Synnex in New Zealand

Less than one year after the deal was announced

Kaspersky Lab partnership with Synnex has ended less than a year after the deal was announced, Reseller News can reveal.

In 29 May 2018, Synnex signed a deal to distribute Kaspersky Lab products in New Zealand as the distributor was looking to boost security offerings across the channel.

The partnership was the first pure-play security vendor signing for Synnex in New Zealand, since launching locally 13 years ago.

“Synnex has been in search for a premium security partner since we entered the New Zealand market in 2005,” Synnex New Zealand sales and marketing manager, Johnson Ko, told Reseller News at the time.

“Our partnership with Kaspersky Lab, entails a brand new enterprise offering which further allows Synnex to make the consumer range visible and available to the New Zealand reseller market.”

Reseller News understands that the partnership has come to an end before the deal with Dicker Data was announced on 6 May, covering both Australia and New Zealand.

Kaspersky Lab and Synnex declined to comment further.
