
Simon Gillespie has vacated his role at Spark to return as CEO of Dimension Data in New Zealand, Reseller News can reveal.
The industry veteran is currently on gardening leave, pending an official appointment in the coming weeks as a direct replacement for Wayne Yarr, who left the business in early 2019.
Sources close to Reseller News have confirmed that Spark staff have been informed of Gillespie's departure.
Gillespie exits after five years with the telecommunications giant, joining Spark Digital in July 2014 as general manager of corporate, before assuming the position of general manager of sales across the northern region at Spark.
Prior to this, Gillespie was CEO of Dimension Data in New Zealand for more than 15 months, during a stint spanning over three years at the technology provider.
Leveraging more than 25 years market experience, Gillespie’s appointment aligns with plans to appoint a new local leader by the end of March, as reported by Reseller News.
