Unit4 appoints Lee Gale to lead A/NZ

Former OpenText channel chief named MD, replaces Chris Tithof

ERP software vendor Unit4 has appointed Lee Gale as managing director for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

Gale, the former Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) channel chief for OpenText, takes over the leadership from Chris Tithof, who was appointed country manager in April last year.

His appointment comes as Unit4 looks to grow its foothold in A/NZ, particularly in professional services, higher education, public services, and not-for profit-industries.

“I’m thrilled to join Unit4’s team in A/NZ and help drive numerous opportunities we have in this market”, Gale said. “Unit4 has established a great presence in A/NZ and we definitely see a fruitful future for the business in this region building on the strong customer and partner base already in place.”

Gale previously spent nearly 10 years at OpenText, starting as an account executive and then rising to the role of SAP solutions director first for A/NZ and then APJ. He was promoted to regional vice president of channels and alliances in 2015.

Before joining OpenText, he worked for Adobe Systems for two years, holding the roles of SAP partner sales manager Asia Pacific and system integrators and ISV partner manager for the same region.

“With solid knowledge in the art and science of B2B sales of digital solutions and recognition of a great team, we believe Lee is the right person to take our business forward and to drive success in the Australia and New Zealand market,” said Yujin Evered, regional president and SVP of Unit4 Asia Pacific.

Gale’s predecessor Tithof left Unit4 in November last year to join LiveHire as director of channel development, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Tithof originally joined Unit4 in August 2015 where he held the roles of corporate account manager, channel manager for A/NZ and then country manager for the two markets.

Unit4 said the name change came in order to be more encompassing of Australia and New Zealand.
