Robotic process automation (RPA) software vendor Automation Anywhere has appointed Nextgen as its first distributor for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

As part of the agreement, the RPA vendor will gain access to the Sydney-based distributor’s reseller network, plus marketing services via Nextgen’s branding arm Bang.

The vendor creates "digital worker" capabilities using RPA plus added insights through its integrated analytics technology.

According to Nextgen CEO John Walters, the demand for RPA technology has increased among the distributor’s channel network.

“In researching the market, we chose Automation Anywhere as the vendor with the right vision and existing capability to assist customers make this transition to a workforce of the future, where humans are augmented by digital workers,” he said.

“Enterprises today are demanding more solutions to increase efficiency across their existing workforce, with many keen to explore and implement the benefits that RPA and digital workers could provide them.”

The agreement follows the recent appointment of former Oracle managing director Tim Ebbeck as the vendor’s senior vice president and MD.

“We’re delighted to be announcing Nextgen as our distributor in A/NZ,” he said. “The team at Nextgen has created the only true value-added distribution model in this market, with its focused software technology capabilities augmented by its range of services which empowers both technology vendors and the best resellers in the market.

“Beyond the technology, Automation Anywhere and Nextgen are strongly aligned culturally and in our focus on putting the customer first.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
