OrionVM has added WatchGuard Technologies to its wholesale cloud platform, in a move designed to offer increased opportunities for channel partners.

According to the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) specialists, the partnership will allow channel partners to better add a competitive layer of security to virtual instances.

Furthermore, it opens up new business opportunities for managed service providers (MSPs) and resellers, in particular, looking to bundle network security with their cloud solutions.

“We are thrilled to make our templates available on the OrionVM Wholesale Cloud Platform,” said Danny Banks, technical director at WatchGuard. “Virtual environments are complex to manage and vulnerable to security threats.

"With WatchGuard, virtualised environments can be just as secure as physical ones by taking advantage of the same security services, such as real-time monitoring, multi-WAN support and more, to fit any-sized business. For partners, adding these capabilities is easy, cost effective, and flexible."

The out-of-the-box cloud offering comes with a unified threat management (UTM) firewall solution and layered security services, allowing service providers to focus on core competencies in the process.

Furthermore, partners can deploy the security vendor's templates directly on virtual IPs, while hosting WatchGuard FireboxV on OrionVM also offers cost-savings and deployment benefits.

“No other cloud and security vendors could deliver the features, support, and a business model that fit our unique requirements – right out of the box,” said Larry French CEO of LFIT Services, a Synnex reseller and CompTIA authorised Service Centre.

“By offering services from both OrionVM and WatchGuard, we have a turnkey platform to deploy cloud infrastructure that is fully protected with rock-solid firewalls and security services.

“This is especially valuable when customers are going from an on-premise solution to the cloud. It allows us to replicate on-premise designs and best-practices in the cloud, including comprehensive security services to protect their environment.”

Delving deeper, OrionVM’s hyper converged stack and self-service web portals allow clients to quickly launch their own enterprise-grade cloud offerings with zero capital expense.

Furthermore, partners have full control, from a complete white-label re-brand, to billing integration and flexible account management.

“As our provider network continues to grow we strive to enhance the functionality of our cloud infrastructure suite for the channel community by adding technology partners like WatchGuard to our offering,” said Daniel Pfeiffer, vice president of marketing and partnerships, OrionVM.

“Making this technology easily leverageable within the OrionVM platform adds to the competitive advantage channel partners gain when deploying our cloud solutions, now with best-in-class security services."
