Travel and expense management platform developer Serko has extended its reseller deal with Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) making its Zeno platform available to CWT clients in the US and Canada.

The existing CWT agreement was limited to Australia and New Zealand.

Zeno will become one of the CWT preferred booking tools for the small to medium enterprise market in North America, including a self on-boarding platform that simplifies rollout and configuration.

“CWT is one of the largest global entities in the corporate travel world and we have had a long-standing relationship with the team in the Australasian market," said Darrin Grafton, CEO of Serko.

Serko has been working to develop its channel and last year raised a further $15 million to support growth.

As part of the CWT deal, Serko will integrate its partner's RoomIt hotel merchandising platform and content into Zeno’s hotel supply platform.

Serko told shareholders today that while the CWT opportunity was "potentially significant", the on-boarding of customers and commencement of transactional revenue will take time.

Additional development work will be undertaken by Serko to configure Zeno to conform with CWT’s operational and marketing requirements as well as its ongoing customer servicing requirements.

"Serko does not anticipate any material impact on the current financial year guidance due to the requirement for development work followed by an initial limited rollout for pilot customers which is not expected to be completed until mid-2019," the company said.

Meanwhile, NZX-listed utility and billing software developer Gentrack announced a new contract to supply its billing and customer management software to a leading UK-based business water retailer.

Serko will provide guidance for its 2020 financial year when it releases its 2019 results in May.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
