Andrew Moss has vacated his role as CEO of Atlas Gentech, assuming the position of group commercial director at the newly formed Optic Security Group.

The appointment of Moss comes days after Optic Security Group rolled up six physical and cyber security companies to create a $100 million powerhouse across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

As reported by Reseller News, the new company, which will operate from 18 sites on both sides of the Tasman, claims to have now formed the region's largest independent physical, IT and information security group.

Optic Security brings together physical security company Auckland-based Fortlock, which recently acquired Wellington IT experts Comsmart, as well as Wellington-based Circuit Systems and Auckland's SSL.

Across the ditch, Optic Security has added Adelaide-based Security & Technology Services and Sydney-based Bemac.

The new-look Optic Security will be led by Group CEO Jason Cherrington, with Moss now coming on-board to drive commercial sales.

“I’m extremely excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Moss to the Optic Security Group executive leadership team as group commercial director,” wrote Cherrington, via social media.

“Moss brings a wealth of experience and notable success within the security industry both in New Zealand and Australia, most recently as CEO of the incredibly successful Atlas Gentech. I’m delighted to welcome him on board.”

Since joining as general manager in March 2014, Moss rose through the ranks at Atlas Gentech, becoming CEO two years later in 2016.

During his tenure, the business was acquired by Anixter International, with the global distributor of network and security solutions taking control of local operations.

As revealed by Reseller News, the Auckland-based business struck the deal earlier in the year, with the transaction closing before the end of June 2018.

The acquisition also included Central Security Distribution and Inner Range, specialist distributors based in Australia, which are part-owned by the management team of Atlas Gentech.
