Australian-based Evologic has joined forces with New Zealand-based Lancom Technologies to redevelop the document management system of Barwon Health, following a competitive tender process.

Under the banner of PROMPT, the system ensures the right information is available at the right time to assist in delivering the correct level of care for patients.

The awarding of the contract comes after the Department of Health and Human Services supported Barwon Health’s proposal to redevelop PROMPT, as announced in May.

Following a State Government funding round of $1.3 million - invested towards the system’s rebuild - an open tender was released for the software development, hosting and support for PROMPT in July 2018.

From the 10 responses received, Evologic has been awarded as the successful bidder to develop and deliver the PROMPT rebuild, leveraging the capabilities of Lancom Technologies in the process.

Specifically, the new environment will be built as a server-less application within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem.

“Barwon Health is looking forward to working with Evologic,” said David Morrison, project manager of PROMPT at Barwon Health. “Utilising cloud-based services means the system will be maintainable and extensible for future technical change.

“New features will also be released with the PROMPT rebuild to help strengthen the governance and accreditation of documents.”

Founded over 15 years ago, Geelong-based Evologic specialises in cloud-based IT managed services while Lancom Technologies is an Auckland-based technical specialist partner.

“We are uniquely positioned in the Geelong market with a large local team of infrastructure specialists, as well a global network of partners built over years of sharing and collaboration,” added Chris Davies, managing director of Evologic.

“We have partnered with Lancom Technologies in Auckland to deliver a scalable, cloud-based solution, levering their deep technical knowledge and proven track record of successful projects.”

The new PROMPT is due to be released in July 2019.
