Hills has signed an agreement to extend its distribution of Extreme Networks to include New Zealand, selling the vendor’s wider portfolio through the channel.

Terms of the deal includes the rights to distribute products and services acquired by Extreme Networks in the recent acquisitions of Zebra (Motorola WiNG), Brocade and Avaya across Australia and New Zealand.

According to David Lenz - CEO and managing director of Hills - the distributor continues to provide a “strong sales channel” for the vendor, offering access to new markets in addition to growing its traditional base of resellers.

“Hills is able to value-add, offering a dedicated team of pre and post sales engineers across A/NZ,” Lenz said. “This is as well as a professional services team to assist both channel partners and end users with site surveys, system configuration and on-site commissioning.

“In addition, Hills will support partners who previously operated with Zebra, Brocade or Avaya to increase the breadth and depth of the coverage they provide and the solutions they deliver, and assist with specific customer requirements.

“Hills will also manage the supply chain for partners in both Australia and New Zealand with local stock holdings of popular products and coordination of delivery of major projects.”

Lenz said Extreme Networks has seen “major growth” in the local market during the past 12 months, triggered by the vendor’s triple acquisition.

Going forward, Hills will provide expertise across edge to core technologies, alongside wired and wireless networking solutions for integrators and end-users across small business to enterprise markets.

“Extreme Networks is in a unique position to provide a scalable set of agile, adaptive and secure solutions and will provide the wired and wireless backbone for projects across our health, security, audio visual, IT and communications businesses,” added Roger Edgar, head of security and surveillance at Hills.

“Vendor partners can be confident that Hills has the expertise to support the latest architecture solutions like Smart Edge, Automated Campus and Agile Data Centre, and can help them maximise the partner program.”
