Deloitte has appointed Orion Health general manager and NZ Health IT chair Kate Reid as a director for digital health in its consulting service.
Deloitte’s national consulting leader, Cobus Scholtz, said Reid will be working with Deloitte health sector leader Thorsten Engel to expand the firm's offerings and services to the industry.
“Health care is evolving as the industry undergoes significant change," Scholtz said. "At Deloitte we are looking to increase our capability to help the industry navigate and respond to this disruption and complexity, and Kate will make an immediate and positive impact on these efforts.”
Deloitte has also joined NZ Health IT as a corporate member.
Scholtz said Reid is a "dynamic leader" adept at pursuing partnerships and collaborations to help improve health care outcomes for New Zealanders.
"She is passionate about the role of digital in driving precision health care," Scholtz added. "During her time at Orion Health, she has successfully grounded their brand in New Zealand as a technology company that can deliver the tools health care organisations need today."
Reid was deeply involved in an award-winning $38 million Precision Driven Health research partnership at Orion with Waitemata DHB and the University of Auckland.
Deloitte’s Health Care Team is also sponsoring next month’s Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ) conference in Wellington.
It has been a busy time for the consultancy giant, announcing a new Dell Boomi integration partnership last week and using Idiom decision automation software to fix historic errors in New Zealand payrolls.
