IBM has recruited Rupina Menzagopian as its new routes leader for IBM spanning Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

Menzagopian replaces Craig McGregor, who left after five months, to pursue a new Asia Pacific role with identity security vendor, SailPoint.

In a statement, IBM said Menzagopian’s role is a key part of its growth strategy within the vendor's channel team, working alongside system integrators and independent software vendors, as well as on-boarding new partners.

"This role is key to growth within IBM's channels team, working with our SI's, ISV's and bringing on new partners who are aligned to IBM's transformation journey," an IBM spokesperson told ARN.

Menzagopian has spent more than 14 years at IBM holding a variety of management roles including channel sales management for Lenovo in A/NZ and as IBM’s northern region sales manager for global technology and services integration.

Most recently she was IBM’s client executive for healthcare and state government accounts, and was also the enterprise sales executive.

A recent joint ARN and Reseller News analysis covering both sides of the Tasman, pointed out that a new channel chief is appointed every 11 days across A/NZ, as vendor churn continues to destabilise the channel.

About 25 channel management positions have changed hands since the turn of the year, equating to a new appointment every 11.44 days on average, or every 274.56 hours to be precise.
