Dimension Data has appointed Peter Benson as principal consultant in New Zealand, recruiting the security specialist from KPMG.

Benson joins the technology provider following almost 18 months at the consultancy giant, having held the position of director of cyber security since June 2017.

During this period, Benson was tasked with providing consulting services to customers across the country, in addition to business and service development within the field of cyber security.

“Peter’s diverse experience further strengthens our cyber security go-to-market and brings on board an industry recognised expert who will advise our clients on cyber security strategies and services in today’s ever-changing digital threat landscape,” said Wayne Yarr, CEO of Dimension Data New Zealand, when speaking to Reseller News.

Benson was previously CEO of Security-Assessment.com, which operated as a pure play security consultancy focusing on technical testing and assessments of security weaknesses.

“I sold Security-Assessment.com to Dimension Data in late 2007, time to revisit and take the team to the next level,” wrote Benson, via social media.

The appointment of Benson comes four months after Dimension Data partnered with Seattle-based Chef Software to provide automation solutions to customers in New Zealand, delivered through hybrid cloud environments.

As reported by Reseller News, terms of the agreement will see the technology provider tap into a suite of solutions designed to improve speed, scale, consistency and compliance through hybrid cloud.
