Vend and Xero appoint Perceptive to boost customer intelligence

Customer intelligence agency Perceptive is now a global Insights partner for New Zealand tech success stories Vend and Xero.

Perceptive, which is based in Auckland and joined the Clemenger Group last year, will be undertaking market research to help inform strategic decisions and adapt to international market and customer needs.

While Perceptive will be working with point of sale software developer Vend and cloud accounting giant Xero independently, there are many commonalities between the two.

Vend’s point-of-sale software integrates with Xero and when used together they combine retail inventory management with cloud-based accounting.

“Both Vend and Xero are prime examples of New Zealand companies that have changed the way businesses operate around the world," says CEO and founder of Perceptive Chris Pescott.

"They have used innovative thinking and have created solutions that have truly simplified and streamlined business processes, and we are proud to be helping fuel their next phase of expansion."

Meanwhile, Malcolm Phillipps, chief marketing officer at Vend, said partnering with Perceptive will deepen Vend's understanding of what retailers value when it comes to point of sale and how well Vend delivers to that.

"Knowing that one of our respected technology partners, Xero, has also appointed Perceptive, gives us confidence in our decision to bring them on board and their ability to help us continue to grow globally," he added.

Perceptive provides research and insights programs to a variety of organisations across the Asia Pacific, North America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and India.

Last year, Business Insider reported how Xero had obtained its .com URL from a US heavy metal band that went on to become Linkin Park.
