Tenable has appointed Jason Baynham as territory manager of New Zealand, as the security vendor ramps up operations across the country.

The appointment sees Baynham exit Hewlett Packard Enterprise, having joined as part of the tech giant’s acquisition of Nimble Storage in April 2017.

Prior to his role as country manager of Nimble Storage in New Zealand, Baynham held sales leader and business development roles at Dimension Data during a six-year period, alongside previous positions at IBM, Sirocom and then Telecom.

Going forward, Baynham is tasked with growing Tenable’s presence in New Zealand, through the development of both customer and channel ecosystems nationwide.

The appointment reunites Baynham with Bede Hackney, who joined as country manager of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) at Tenable in September 2017, coming on-board after over two years at Nimble Storage.

As reported by sister publication ARN, Hackney replaced the departed Gordon Gakovic, who was appointed as the vendor’s first local leader in April 2017.

In taking over the top role, Hackney is tasked with growing Tenable’s presence on both sides of the Tasman, building out the vendor’s ecosystem of partners in the process.

The local appointment comes 14 months after Tenable launched a new channel program globally, targeting managed security service providers (MSSPs), system integrators and resellers.

Under the banner of Tenable Assure, the program centres around ongoing partner training and certification, backed up by improved deal registration across enterprise and commercial deals.

With more than 24,000 customers worldwide, Tenable’s clients include more than 50 per cent of the Fortune 500 and more than 25 per cent of the Global 2000.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
