EY is seeking expressions of interest for a technology-focused strategy and transformation role in New Zealand, as the consultancy giant builds out digital capabilities.

Specifically, the powerhouse is seeking an “advisory professional” with deep expertise across technology strategy and procurement, in addition to operating model design and enterprise architecture.

Based in Auckland, the candidate must have deep expertise in creating “digital and cloud roadmaps”, backed up by experience in “technology outsourcing and service management”.

“The nature of work is evolving rapidly due to changes in technology, the environment, society, and human behaviour,” the job advert stated.

Alongside “strong influencing skills”, the candidate must also be able to improve the current performance of EY clients through “technology enabled services”, spanning the length and breadth of New Zealand.

“Businesses are being disrupted in the digital age and they need different capabilities to become more innovative, agile, responsive and adaptable to change,” the advert added.

EY’s increased investment in technology locally should come as no surprise, following news that the business will invest a billion dollars in new technology solutions, client services and innovation, as part of a two-year strategy effective immediately.

Spanning global and local practices, the consultancy giant aims to deepen “innovative offerings” to customers through emerging and disruptive technologies.

As reported by Reseller News, the new round of funding - emphasising EY’s commitment to advising and implementing technology solutions - is in addition to the existing, “significant” annual investment made by the business.

Specifically, the funding will be used to create new technology-based services and solutions in areas such as financial services, cyber, risk management, managed services, software services as well as digital tax and audit services.
