Chris Barton (FireEye)
Chris Barton has been appointed as new head of channel and alliances across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) at FireEye.
Barton established the security vendor's channel ecosystem locally when he joined in 2013 and was most recently the senior manager of strategic alliances for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) as part of the FireEye Global Service Provider business.
“FireEye partners are in a unique position to use our intelligence, experience and expertise from the front lines to develop differentiated offerings that provide the types of advanced cyber products and services our customers are demanding,” said Barton.
Barton said he was looking forward to the opportunity to return to specifically growing the vendor's channel on both sides of the Tasman.
“There’s a significant opportunity for our partners to take FireEye solutions to new market segments in new ways," he added.
“FireEye has recently launched new partnering and pricing programs, combined with mid-market focused enterprise security bundles, to make it easier for our partners to supply and support security solutions for their mid-market customers.”
Meanwhile in May, Louis Tague was appointed as managing director for FireEye across A/NZ, exiting his role leading Veritas Technologies in the process.
Tague replaced Richard Metcalfe who left the role of regional director A/NZ with FireEye in January, joining security automation and orchestration start-up Phantom, which has been recently acquired by Splunk.
