Adaptive Insights has appointed Vince Randall as managing director across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), as the specialist cloud provider begins life under Workday ownership.

The move comes as the ink dries on Workday’s US$1.55 billion acquisition of Adaptive, in a deal designed to bolster capabilities across the finance and HR markets.

Randall is tasked with continuing to expand the company’s presence on both sides of the Tasman, which currently includes 13 partners, alongside customer success, professional services, product development and sales support teams.

The business also has established data centres in Sydney and Melbourne, entering a new phase of management following strong local growth during the fiscal year of 2018.

Specifically, Adaptive recorded 43 per cent growth in new annual recurring revenue (ARR), tapping into a pool of more than 200 customers locally, which includes Roy Hill, Australian Olympic Committee and GroundProbe.

“Vince’s experience in helping organisations transform business in the cloud and his understanding of the local markets is a huge asset,” said Fred Gewant, chief revenue officer, Adaptive Insights.

“We continue to see strong demand from companies of all sizes in A/NZ ready to embrace the cloud for their planning processes.

“Working in concert with our strong partner network and local support teams, we’re enabling these customers to make faster, better decisions to adapt to change and drive growth.”

Randall joins from SAP where he was the general manager of sales for the vendor’s enterprise cloud ERP offering.

Prior to this, he was the regional vice president and general manager for Epicor Software A/NZ, and also spent eight years in sales at NetSuite, including four years as the sales director for A/NZ.

As reported by sister publication Channel Asia, the Workday acquisition is expected to close by 31 October 2018 - the third quarter of the vendor’s fiscal year 2019 - and aims to combine offerings in a bid to build an enhanced suite of applications across finance and HR sectors.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Adaptive has a customer base in excess of more than 3,800 organisations, including A10 Networks, Infoblox and Ivanti, in addition to Konica Minolta, Rimini Street and Tenable Network Security.

At this stage, it’s unclear how the acquisition will impact Adaptive’s channel ecosystem, with key partners spanning solution providers, global system integrators and independent software vendors.
