Lancom Technology has appointed Kevin Williamson as sales director in New Zealand, recruiting the technology specialist to drive customer growth across the country.

Williamson rejoins the Auckland-based provider following six years away from the company, having held management roles at Spark Digital and then Dimension Data.

Going forward, Williamson is tasked with building “new partnerships” in the local market, with a specific focus on cloud and software development.

“Having worked with Lancom for seven years prior to working with Spark and Dimension Data, Kevin understands our business, our core focus, and most importantly our people and culture,” Lancom general manager, Waruna Kirimetiyawa, told Reseller News.

“Kevin brings a wealth of sales knowledge and discipline to Lancom, which will immensely help in our growth as we expand into Australia and beyond.”

With deep specialisation in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Citrix technologies, Lancom operates as a cloud-first managed service provider in New Zealand, backed up by custom software development capabilities.

Specific to AWS, the provider designs, builds and manages cloud applications and solutions for small and medium businesses across the country, leveraging AWS Advanced Partner status locally.

With application development, migration, DevOps and consulting expertise, the business counts Attwoods, Ezi Car Rental and Mondiale as customers, alongside HRV, Total Admin and Salt.

“In this time of digital disruption a lot of companies are moving away from traditional ICT models,” Williamson told Reseller News. “Companies are having to adapt to change at a faster rate than ever before and are being disrupted by smaller start-ups.

“I see Lancom as well placed to help business’s with this digital disruption by delivering both software development capability and having a cloud-first approach with Azure and AWS; moving away from large capital driven ICT spending.

“In coming back to Lancom I can bring the experience I have learned having worked for some of the largest ICT partners in New Zealand and merge that with the agility that Lancom can deliver to leverage technology to help businesses succeed.”
