Telegistics has appointed John van Rensburg as CEO in New Zealand, as the Spark-owned distributor sharpens Cisco capabilities across the channel.

Leveraging a strong channel heritage, van Rensburg has held management and leadership roles in distribution across the region, joining Telegistics amid a move into new facilities in Mount Wellington, Auckland.

“I am excited to be back home, involved in the New Zealand reseller channel again, leading Telegistics and providing reseller partners options to get access to Cisco’s entire product and services portfolio,” van Rensburg said.

“My key priorities over the coming weeks is to meet our partners across New Zealand to ensure we are representing Cisco in the market place and provide our resellers with choice for accessing everything Cisco.”

Van Rensburg recently relocated back to Auckland from Melbourne, having previously been Oceania managing director for Brightstar, a mobile services provider owned by Japanese-listed company, Softbank.

Prior to this, van Rensburg held a number of senior leadership positions with Brightpoint - now Ingram Micro - for over 10 years in international markets including Western Europe, UK, Middle East Africa, alongside multiple other senior management roles throughout Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re excited to bring John, with his wealth of experience in the ICT reseller sector, on board and we’re looking forward to him leading Telegistics into its next evolution as a company,” Telegistics director, Rajesh Singh, added.

“We remain one of two Cisco distributors in New Zealand and we're looking forward to working with Cisco and the ICT reseller community to continue to bring business changing solutions to our customers. We have a great relationship with Cisco and they are a great collaborator.”

As revealed by Reseller News, the Spark subsidiary was appointed as a full distributor of Cisco products in September 2017, following a channel review process in New Zealand.

“I am always excited to see leaders coming back to New Zealand after living overseas, as they bring a diversity of thought that comes from working across multiple countries and being exposed to their way of business, thinking, culture and customers,” Cisco New Zealand general manager, Dave Wilson, said.

“Combine that with New Zealand, and our industry’s appetite to innovate, experiment, and to take risk to achieve new outcomes.

“We look forward to working with John in his role as CEO of Telegistics to deliver the next level of innovation, customer experience and value add to the New Zealand channel and our customers.”
