NZX-listed IkeGPS has won a major channel into the US market, announcing a distribution agreement with GIS software giant Esri.
The agreement makes Spike, a smart laser measurement solution, available to Esri’s American user community, supporting the recent integration of Spike with Esri’s Survey123 for ArcGIS.
Esri's systems are deployed in more than 350,000 organisations including the world’s largest cities and many national governments. Auckland Council this week named Esri among its top four strategic software suppliers.
"Esri is not only the GIS market leader, they are a trusted voice for new technology that can benefit organisations that rely on field activities and bring efficiencies to their day-to-day processes,” said Glenn Milnes, CEO of IkeGPS.
"In addition to recognising the value of integrating Survey123 for ArcGIS with Spike, Esri wanted to directly bring this joint-solution to their domestic user community."
More than 75 per cent of Fortune 500 companies use ArcGIS, which combines mapping and analytics. Esri’s other products include mobile apps for field data collection, which feed data into ArcGIS for mapping and analysis.
The integration allows field workers to quickly, easily, and safely measure areas, heights, widths, and the offset location of assets that are difficult to reach by taking a photo with a smartphone or tablet within the Survey123 for ArcGIS app.
To use the technology, a field worker attaches the Spike laser device to a smartphone or tablet, opens the Survey123 for ArcGIS mobile app and takes a photo.
The photo, measurement data, and location data are then automatically populated into the field worker’s survey form and uploaded into ArcGIS Online.
