Synnex signs up Kaspersky Lab to boost NZ security play

Partnership targets Kiwi resellers and service providers

Synnex has been appointed as a distributor of Kaspersky Lab in New Zealand, signing up the vendor to boost security offerings across the channel.

Reseller News can reveal that the ink has now dried on the first-time agreement, meaning security solutions are now available through the distribution giant.

“Kaspersky Lab has been trading in A/NZ for a decade,” Kaspersky Lab general manager A/NZ, Margrith Appleby, told Reseller News. “Our tremendous growth and success is achieved by working with the best distribution providers and this new partnership with Synnex New Zealand will now see our future strategy in security solutions come to life.

“With collaborative ideas in cloud based delivery, industrial and IoT solutions we are forming a very solid future for security software sales.”

Targeting Kiwi resellers and service providers, the partnership represents the first pure-play security vendor signing for Synnex in New Zealand, since launching locally 13 years ago.

“Synnex has been in search for a premium security partner since we entered the New Zealand market in 2005,” Synnex New Zealand sales and marketing manager, Johnson Ko, told Reseller News.

“Our partnership with Kaspersky Lab, entails a brand new enterprise offering which further allows Synnex to make the consumer range visible and available to the New Zealand reseller market.”

In joining Exclusive Networks as a distributor of Kaspersky Lab in New Zealand, the agreement sees Synnex gain access to a portfolio spanning threat intelligence, endpoint protection and next-generation security solutions, with more than 400 million users around the world.

On the flip side, Kaspersky Lab joins forces with a distributor housing more than 2,500 partners in New Zealand, including value-added resellers, system integrators and managed service providers.

“I look forward to being part of a strong, robust partnership with Kaspersky Lab to gain incremental business in the security space, while maintaining Synnex’s strong values that provides our resellers a premium experience in terms of speed, accuracy and execution,” Ko added.

“I am confident that this partnership will be the gateway to high levels of success for both sides moving forward.”

Earlier this year, Kaspersky Lab secured a Maintenance Service Agreement (MSA) to a large consumer retailer in New Zealand, providing extended technical assistance which primarily includes 24 hours, seven days a week support with dedicated engineers.
