Adelaide-based Emt Distribution has signed an exclusive agreement with New Jersey-based Stealthbits Technologies for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

The US cyber security software vendor will give Emt Distribution access to its solutions for active directory security and management, file activity monitoring, compliance and data access governance.

According to Emt, Stealthbits addresses all significant controls in the Australian Signals Directorate’s Information Security Manual, such as the need to address the security and full audit capability of privileged operations, elevation of privileges, user and group creation, deletion and modification and access to files and file systems, as well as controlling password complexity and preventing use of hackable passwords.

"We are delighted to be chosen as the exclusive distributor for Stealthbits in Australia and New Zealand," Emt Distribution CEO Richard Rundle said.

"The use cases for the company’s solutions are numerous and critical to the security of our reseller partners’ customers. Stealthbits also has a proven track record with data access governance in the enterprise with customers like Dun & Bradstreet, Barclays, AIG, Deutsche Bank and more."

Stealthbits Technologies vice president international Robert Attree said the vendor was experiencing rapid growth and required a distribution partner.

"Emt is the right partner to take our international channel only sales strategy and deliver world class support to both existing and new customers in Australia and New Zealand."

Stealthbits Technologies saw 110 per cent year-on-year growth in Australia and New Zealand in the past three years, revealed the vendor's Asia Pacific (APAC) channel director Mark Kensley.

"That triple digit growth is poised to continue with a strengthening digital economy, new data breach notification requirements, cyber investments by Australian federal and state governments and the dramatic increase in targeted attacks occurring throughout supply chains," Kensley said.

"Our channel partners allow us to scale rapidly and deliver quality results, without losing our customer first focus. It’s important for us to manage growth through our partner community and to strengthen those relationships."

Kensley explained that the choice of Emt was due to its "historical success" in introducing security software vendors into a market and connecting the right partners to the right customers.

In April, Emt was named the first local distributor for US-based ThreatConnect. As a result of the deal, Emt was given access to ThreatConnect’s suite of products and services.

In August 2017, Emt struck a deal with US-headquartered OPSWAT to distribute and promote its Metadefender threat detection and prevention platform in Australia and New Zealand.
