CIO100 recognises the most transformative executives in the Kiwi market

CIO has unveiled the top 100 technology and digital leaders in New Zealand, providing a customer guide for partners in the year ahead.

Under the banner of CIO100 2018, the annual list recognises the most transformative executives in the Kiwi market, spanning a range of company sizes and sectors.

From Air New Zealand; ANZ; Downer Group; Mercury and Genesis Energy, to Fletcher Building; The Warehouse; Beca; Harcourts and KiwiRail, this guide offers the channel an invaluable insight into the leaders most open to technological innovation and change.

“The CIO100 showcases the achievements of 100 technology and digital leaders tackling transformation in their organisations,” CIO New Zealand editor, Divina Paredes, told Reseller News.

“They keenly assess their respective environments and discern what is possible. They then forge programmes cutting through organisational and technical boundaries, while bringing their team along with them to deliver these initiatives.

“They meld technology and change management strategies to ensure the programmes will benefit their organisations, customers, partners and market sectors.

“They concurrently help the wider organisation navigate the digital economy, acting as strategic and trusted advisors to identify tools that will help tackle business challenges.”

Topping the list for 2018 is Avi Golan, chief digital officer of Air New Zealand, in recognition of the airline’s deployment of disruptive and emerging technologies.

Golan is joined in the top 10 by David Kennedy (Transaction Services); Aaron Toatelegese (BNZ; Craig Bunyan (ANZ Bank) and Dawie Olivier (Westpac); alongside Gary Baird (Inland Revenue); Kevin Angland (Mercury); Glen Willoughby (Downer Group);  David Hackshall (Cochlear) and Kevin Drinkwater (Mainfreight).

Conducted by Reseller News sister publication, CIO, the list is open to the top technology leader within an organisation, who has overall responsibility and control of the ICT vision and IT direction of the company.

Judged by an esteemed panel of industry experts, this high-level C-executive will provide the game-changing innovation within their organisation, while also being at the forefront of decision-making and strategic change.
