Ruckus Networks names A/NZ country manager

Carl Jefferys is appointed to lead the business once more

Carl Jefferys has been appointed Ruckus Networks country manager for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

Jefferys will be responsible for leading the A/NZ business, driving the company’s strategic operations, revenue, growth and marketing programs in the region and will report to William Ho, Arris senior vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

For the past 11 months, Jefferys has been a major account manager with Ruckus, but this is not his first time with the vendor.

In 2009, he set up the Ruckus Wireless business in Australia and New Zealand, driving double-digit growth from 2009 to 2013, and establishing the company’s leadership in industries such as hospitality, education, retail and enterprise.

In June 2017, Jefferys returned to Ruckus, which was acquired by Arris in Dec 2017, and has been responsible for driving new business for Ruckus in segments such as smart cities and higher education.

Carl brings over 40 years’ experience in the Australian IT and telecommunications industry with companies such as NEC Australia, GX2 Technology, and AirTight Networks.

Prior to joining Ruckus for the second time, he was the global sales director of GX2 Technology, a major Ruckus reseller which was recently acquired by Superloop in a $12 million deal.

"We are at the cusp of a significant transformation in the networking industry, whether in smart cities, education, hospitality, healthcare, or enterprises in general," Jefferys said.

"Having established the Australian and New Zealand arm of Ruckus Wireless almost 10 years ago, I’m committed to helping drive growth and success for our customers, partners, and business in the region.”

Arris senior vice president APJ, Ho, said that Jefferys' innate understanding of the Ruckus channel ecosystem and experience managing large customers’ relationships will help accelerate growth for the business in Australia and New Zealand.

Ruckus, now an Arris company, was previously acquired by Brocade in April 2016 for US$1.2 billion. A few months later, Broadcom announced plans to buy Brocade.

In February 2017, Broadcom sold Ruckus Wireless business for US$800 million to video and broadband equipment vendor, Arris International.
