Veritas keeps pace through partner program overhaul

Involves increasing technical assets, deepening skills and enhancing opportunities for partners

Veritas has revealed an “enriched” global partner program aimed at helping the company keep pace with the evolving channel by increasing technical assets, deepening skills and enhancing opportunities for partners.

The data management software vendor said that its new Veritas Partner Force program is designed to create higher earnings potential for more than 10,000 global partners tapping into its data management portfolio and multi-cloud data management solutions.

According to Veritas global channels and alliances vice president, Barbara Spicek, the move is aimed, in part, to help the vendor remain relevant to partners that are adapting to the requirements of the changing market.

“The channel continues to evolve as many of our partners are developing more of their own intellectual property and are focused on selling business solutions versus point-products,” Spicek said.

“Recognising the changing needs of the channel, Veritas is increasing technical assets, deepening skills and enhancing opportunities to make it easier for our broad ecosystem of partners to help customers harness the power of their data on-premises and in multi-cloud environments."

Specifically, the new Veritas Partner Force program is designed to be simplified, making it easier for partners to see benefits and rewards.

Partners will also have access to a range of educational offerings aimed at helping customers solve some of their biggest data management challenges, the vendor said.

Moreover, the revamped program is designed to provide expanded revenue opportunities in a bid to attract new resellers, service providers, system integrators and distributors.

Among the new key components of the Veritas Partner Force program is increasing the opportunities for existing partners with greater earnings potential by offering rewards for their technical skills and investment in Veritas solutions.

This component sees top performing partners become eligible to receive special rebates by overachieving set quarterly growth targets. There is also increased deal registration rewards and pre-sales technical assistance via online chat or email, as well as access to the Veritas Partner Development Fund – all designed to provide additional opportunities for growth.

The new program is also designed to build new revenue streams for partners selling to commercial and mid-market accounts. Partners selling to these sectors will have opportunities to receive increased compensation and technical assets, along with new e-learning and technical podcasts focused on this market. Additionally, new co-marketing assets will be available to create demand with commercial and mid-market accounts.

At the same time, the vendor is expanding its Global Distribution Program to drive growth and innovation by extending opportunities to its global distributors who perform important services on behalf of Veritas, including managing reseller relationships, providing technical support and partner enablement.

The new partner program is also designed to boost partner resources for a faster path to revenue and success, with the vendor making it easier for partners to access sales resources that can help them learn about its latest technologies, which can provide new opportunities to deliver the latest data management solutions in market.

Indeed, partners will also find no-cost, online training modules on the PartnerNet portal focused on Veritas’ 360 data management portfolio.

Partners will also be able to choose from a variety of new accreditation courses and skills evaluations, based on their business practices.

Online courses such as Veritas NetBackup Architecture, Challenges in Backup and Recovery, and Risk Mitigation and Compliance are offered as part of the redesign.
