Former Veeam A/NZ vice president, Don Williams, has become the Asia Pacific and Japan director of corporate sales for CrowdStrike.

Williams will be focused on overseeing the corporate sales team across the Asia Pacific and Japan region and working closely with the channel to identify new market opportunities to help grow its revenues and customer-base.

Prior to joining CrowdStrike, Williams spent about seven years with Veeam and was most recently the A/NZ vice president. Williams has also worked at Quest Software for about 10 years across various roles including regional sales manager.

Recently CrowdStrike embarked on a strategy to significantly expand its APJ partner base.

The cloud-based endpoint protection provider revealed plans to triple its current channel management team and hire about 40 extra staff in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region -- including Australia and New Zealand -- as well as tripling its funding for channel marketing initiatives.

Veeam, meanwhile revealed in January that it had appointed former RSA and BMC Software executive, Gary Mitchell, as its new A/NZ vice president, stepping into the role that Don Williams vacated in October.

At the time of his departure, Williams said he decided to resign to reset, take a break and dedicate more time to his family.

Mitchell stepped into the role vacated by Williams with an extensive career behind him, featuring regional management roles in large technology vendors such as CA Technologies, BMC Software, Enterasys/Extreme Networks and RSA/EMC.

Mitchell said at the time that he had already spent some time with the team, looking into how it can expand the business even further in the region and will be adding about 10 extra staff to its channel team.
