Pure Storage swaps Arrow for Westcon in NZ

Terms of the agreement will see Westcon distribute the entire Pure Storage portfolio locally

Pure Storage has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Westcon in New Zealand, resulting in the parting of ways with Arrow ECS NZ.

Reseller News can reveal that the storage player has become the latest vendor to reassess distribution strategies locally, as the channel continues to experience sizeable supply chain change.

Terms of the agreement will see Westcon distribute the entire Pure Storage portfolio, with a suite of solutions spanning storage array, all-flash arrays and flash storage arrays.

“We recently appointed Westcon New Zealand as Pure Storage’s primary distributor in New Zealand and will distribute our product portfolio through them,” Pure Storage country manager of New Zealand, Stuart Blythe, told Reseller News.

“Westcon’s extensive experience and established relationships in the New Zealand channel will help drive our ambitious growth plans in the country.”

Founded in 2009, Pure Storage continues to experience strong growth across the global storage market, leveraging expertise across data centre, virtualisation and cloud technologies.

From a technology perspective, the vendor has alliance agreements with Oracle, VMware and Cisco, as well as SAP and Microsoft.

“We are delighted with another exclusive appointment of a vendor into our Westcon business and look forward to continuing with our success in the market,” Westcon-Comstor managing director, Dave Rosenberg, told Reseller News.

The addition of Pure Storage follows the recent expansion of the IBM portfolio in New Zealand, with Westcon-Comstor now also distributing the vendor’s software solutions business, in addition to hardware.
