Melbourne-headquartered distributor, M2M Connectivity, has been selected as a master distributor for Connected IO (ASX:CIO), a vendor of wireless products for machine to machine communications and internet of things (IoT) connectivity.
The agreement is for a two-year period initially which can be extended yearly and it covers Australia and New Zealand.
M2M biggest opportunity will be leveraging the presence of Cisco Meraki as in November 2017, Connected IO earned certification from Cisco Meraki for its entire family of cellular modems, including CAT 1 solutions.
Connected IO executive chairman, Jason Ferris, said M2M's ability to reach into the local market is key to the vendor's success in the region.
Connected Io is headquartered in the US but publicly listed with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). It was founded in 2013 by Yakov Temov following the merger between Wireless Intercom Designer, ICU Wireless, and White Label Corporation.
ConnectedIO was taken over by ASX-listed, Leopard Resources, being renamed to Connected IO in 5 December 2016.
M2M will first bring to market Connected IO's EM2000T-AP-Cat 1 USB Modem. The router can be used for applications in security/surveillance, digital signage, kiosks/POS/vending and energy management.
“The new Connected IO EM2000T LTE Cat1 USB modem is a great addition to our portfolio, providing a high quality cost effective industrial grade USB modem for connecting remote assets," M2M Connectivity director, Daryl Chambers, said.
"The EM2000T overcomes many of the issues M2M customers have seen using consumer USB dongles as it provides external primary and diversity antennas to maximise coverage and provide flexibility with antenna location."
