Nutanix is on the hunt for a new managing director to head up its business in Australia and New Zealand, following the departure of Howard Fyffe, who held the role since late 2016.

"Howard Fyffe has left Nutanix and we wish him well in his future ventures,” Nutanix senior vice president and head of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), Matt Young, said in a statement.

“We are currently seeking a new managing director to continue support of our clients' transition to multi-cloud environments and drive opportunities with our customers and our partners.

“In the interim, I will work closely with Jeff Smith, senior director APJ systems engineering, who will manage the day-to-day responsibility for the Australia and New Zealand business," he said.

Fyffe came to the A/NZ leadership role with the hyper-converged infrastructure vendor in late 2016 after several years with Cisco. Prior to stepping into his role with Nutanix, Fyffe was Cisco’s data centre practice lead for Asia Pacific.

His departure comes roughly two months after Nutanix promoted Andrew Diamond to the role of channel director for A/NZ.

Diamond, who was previously the Nutanix Lenovo alliance manager, took the position left empty by Niall O’Gorman who left the vendor in September 2016 to join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as partner success manager for NSW enterprise.

Diamond was made responsible for leading the company’s channel business and managing all partnerships in the region. He joined Nutanix in March.

Prior to joining Nutanix, Diamond was Dell’s director for storage and data management, a role he held for almost two years.
