Qrious has appointed Stephen Ponsford to the role of technology director, recruiting the former Revera specialist to drive new opportunities across big data and analytics.
Specifically, Ponsford will head up a technology and architect team at the Spark owned organisation, tasked with increasing focus on consulting services, backed up by data-powered marketing offerings, including its recent Ubiquity acquisition.
Effective 6 November, Wellington-based Ponsford also joins the Qrious leadership team, coming to the role after six years at Revera: two years as a pre-sales consultant and almost four years in the role of CTO.
“I am excited about coming in at the start of what is essentially a mainstream adoption curve for AI and data analytics,” Ponsford said.
“And also leading a team that is charged with ensuring customer outcomes are powered by the best technology, data and intelligence that New Zealand has to offer.”
Qrious has expanded significantly in the last 18 months, resulting from both organic growth and growth through strategic acquisitions, now with a team of 80 staff, serving more than 140 customers across New Zealand.
Ponsford’s appointment follows the recent acquisition of Auckland-based marketing automation provider Ubiquity, as revealed by Reseller News in June.
The move is designed to blend the marketing software strengths of Ubiquity with the Spark’s big data and analytics software business Qrious.
In addition, Spark said Ubiquity’s agency campaign services and its proprietary marketing automation platform Engage would be enriched over time by Qrious’ geo-data and analytics capabilities.
