Westcon-Comstor cycles with Cisco for Mental Health

Currently, the charity drive has raised over $2,000 in donations

Westcon-Comstor has issued a challenge to the Kiwi channel, with plans to raise $10,000 for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand following on from Mental Health Awareness week.

Launched alongside Cisco, the initiative has already played host to various events in-house for staff to raise awareness of Mental Health, with the distributor now widening the net to include partners across the country.

Currently, the charity drive has raised over $2,000 in donations.

Voted New Zealand’s favourite ride in 2016, the Otago Rail Trail is the first in the Destination Comstor series launched in August for Cisco registered partners.

In total, 16 Cisco partners will be cycling the trail between Clyde and Middlemarch at the end of November based on growth and revenue, supported by a team from Cisco New Zealand and Westcon-Comstor.

Furthermore, an electric bike is also being given away as an additional prize.

The trail is 152km in length with the first day from Clyde to Lauder being the most challenging, as it is nearly all uphill. From there it’s a pretty easy ride through the beautiful Otago countryside to Middlemarch.

“The trail could be seen as a metaphor for what families with mental health endure on a daily basis, facing challenges and situations which can seem daunting,” Westcon-Comstor stated.

“However with the support from organisations such as the Mental Health Foundation, these challenges can be put in perspective and families provided with the help they need to get through each day.”

The Mental Health Foundation take a holistic approach to mental health, providing free information and training, along with support for people with experience of mental illness.

“Westcon-Comstor is encouraging the channel to show their support for this amazing organisation by making a donation on their fundraising page to get to their target of $10,000, while keeping track of the Comstor Cisco partners on their ride for Mental Health along the Otago Rail Trail,” the distributor added.
