Lenovo honours top performing A/NZ partners

Lenovo has honoured its top performing partners across Australia and New Zealand, recognising channel excellence across both PC and data centre portfolios.

Unveiled during the Lenovo Business Partner Gala Awards in Queenstown, Datacom won the A/NZ Partner of the Year award, while BEarena and Blue Connections took home the Data Centre Group A/NZ Partner of the Year and PC Group Australian Partner of the Year awards respectively.

In addition, New Era IT went home with the Data Centre Group A/NZ Innovative Partner of the Year gong, while CDM was named PC Group A/NZ Growth Partner of the Year.

In New Zealand, Spark Digital took home the PC Group New Zealand Partner of the Year award, with Ingram Micro NZ recognised with the New Zealand Distributor of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Dicker Data took home three distribution gongs – PC Group Australian Distributor of the Year, Data Centre Group Australian Distributor of the Year, and Dicker Data NZ A/NZ Innovative Distributor of the Year.

In addition, Taryn Trass from Data#3 won the 2017 Lenovo Legend award.

“These awards are a great chance for us a business to look back and celebrate the incredible work and dedication that our partners have shown over the past year,” Lenovo A/NZ managing director, Matt Codrington, said.

“We’re thrilled to be able to recognise our colleagues for their exceptional results and ongoing commitment."

The annual gala dinner brings together Lenovo’s top partners on both sides of the Tasman, acknowledging and rewarding those who have strongly contributed to the vendor's success over the past year.

Within the 11 award categories, the winners were selected based on their ability to deliver innovative services, their professionalism and commitment, and by demonstrating exceptional customer service to improve cost efficiencies through best practice and enhanced productivity.

On a global scale, the Lenovo Group recently posted a first-quarter loss, citing higher costs, slower growth in the personal computer market, and supply constraints.

Lenovo, which lost its position as the world's largest PC maker to HP Inc. in the quarter through June, lost US$72 million compared with a profit of US$173 million for the same period last year - it was the company's first quarterly loss since September 2015.
