Connect NZ boosts consultancy capabilities through AV merger

Acquisition allows Connect NZ to tap into ITAV’s extensive experience and knowledge-base

Connect NZ has merged with audio-video design and consultancy company ITAV, in a move designed to bolster the advisory capabilities of the cloud communications specialists.

Having originated from a value-added reseller background, ITAV operates within the AV integration market, evolving from an integrator into a consultancy focused business.

“The merger with the ITAV business is an integral part of Connect NZ‘s strategy to further expand its capacity as New Zealand’s leading integrator, designer and installer of audio and video solutions in the corporate, government, education and live entertainment sectors,” Connect NZ general manager of government and enterprise Keith Block told Reseller News.

“This merger brings additional expertise in design and programming across multiple vendor platforms and will further improve operational efficiencies.”

As a New Zealand owned and operated company, Connect NZ supplies, installs, maintains and secures technology across AV, telephony, IT and print solutions, alongside repair services around mobiles, tablets and laptops.

For Block, the acquisition allows Connect NZ to tap into ITAV’s extensive experience and knowledge-base in New Zealand, as the provider looks to capitalise on providing consultancy services to customers.

“Our increasing customer demand for consultancy services calls for a greater understanding and clarity of how technology investment impacts on staffing and meeting-room real-estate needs,” Block added.

“ITAV’s focus on delivering the right technology to each customer for their specific environment, enhances the user experience and this is very much part of our customer service philosophy.”

Reseller News can reveal that terms of the deal will see ITAV move into the Connect NZ Auckland offices, located in Mount Eden, with Paul Ivory also joining the team.

Ivory carried out the consultancy, design and implementation operations of some of the most complex projects in Australasia, working with AMX, Extron and Crestron products.

“I’m excited to be joining a team that has the capability to look after major clients around New Zealand and the world,” Ivory added.

As part of the merger, ITAV will move into the Connect Auckland offices at 114 Dominion Road, Mt Eden, Auckland.

With a national presence, Connect NZ has offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch.
