Stats NZ shifts from sole vendor, invites Salesforce partners to pitch for panel

Statistics New Zealand is tendering to shift its Salesforce platform development and application support services from a single supplier to a panel.

A request for proposal closing on 26 July is inviting Salesforce partners to submit their proposals to join the proposed closed panel.

Statistics' Salesforce deployment has been managed by Wellington-based Fronde, which last year revealed it had been working with the agency for 18 months to implement a system for the collection of a range of statistical data.

Fronde said it had been working on the Salesforce-based Enterprise Collection Platform (ECP) since February 2015. It had already been used to manage most business surveys and to run a test for the 2018 Census.

The system would replace a number of legacy systems, streamline and centralise data collection, reduce manual processes and boost mobility and security.

“We were looking to implement a consolidated system to make it faster, easier and more cost effective to collect data," Sarah Minson, Stats NZ senior manager operations strategy and development said.

Panel services now required cover a wide area relating to Stats NZ's use of the Salesforce platform and integrated components including a mobile application, Mulesoft application for activity schedule and extract, strategic and advisory services, architecture, business analysis, licensing and design.

Stats NZ said it requires speedy resolution of incidents and requests for enhancements and suppliers will be required to meet agreed service priority levels.

Incidents and enhancements will be logged, diagnosed, escalated, and resolved, in accordance with agreed service priority levels.

Suppliers will perform the services via an approved remote desktop connection from their own offices or on-site at a Stats NZ office.
