Ingram Micro has unveiled plans to expand its unified communications business in New Zealand, through a master distribution agreement with Addcom Contact Solutions.

Revealed during Ingram Micro Showcase 2017, terms of the deal will see Ingram Micro distribute the vendor’s range of headsets and Konftel audio conferencing solutions across the country.

“The Ingram Micro appointment greatly reinforces the exposure of Addcom Contact Solutions in the New Zealand market and will accelerate the growth and reach of the Addcom and Konftel brands,” Addcom managing director Craig Alvarez said.

Alvarez said Addcom has become a dominant supplier of wired and wireless headsets to call centres, providing headsets that combine sound quality along with the durability required for demanding commercial environments.

“We’re looking forward to working with Ingram Micro to educate resellers about our range of traditional, IP, unified communications and Skype for Business compatible peripherals, and the price-performance advantages they deliver,” Alvarez added.

The new agreement supersedes a pre-existing sub-distribution agreement between Ingram Micro and Addcom and creates an environment that supports greater resource and focus for partners.

“We are delighted to be named master distributor for ADDCOM and Konftel in New Zealand,” Ingram Micro senior general manager of advanced solutions Jason Langley added.

“They are market leaders in headsets, audio conferencing and voice recording solutions. Addcom and Konftel boast an impressive line-up of unified communication solutions, which combine with our existing portfolio of UC vendors to broaden the market we can help our channel partners address.”

Langley said the new agreement signifies renewed commitment from both sides, with business development manager Stewart Wright appointed to manage the Addcom and Konftel product sets.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
