No one knows the Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) channel like a partner. At least that is the bet Dropbox is making with the appointment of its new country manager, Tony Ward.

Ward joins the company from digital survey provider Survey Monkey, but in August 2010, he co-founded a Microsoft reseller business in North Sydney, Business365.

Prior to this, Ward spent ten years at Microsoft where he rose to the position of chief marketing and operations manager for Australia. Following his time as a reseller, Ward went on to roles at LinkedIn and SurveyMonkey.

“With a deep understanding of how to capitalise on growth and scale a business, Tony will further accelerate the adoption of Dropbox Business (our business-ready platform) amongst A/NZ organisations and enterprises, enabling them to drive collaboration and leverage it as a competitive differentiator,” the company said in a statement.

“Dropbox Business is the industry’s best kept secret,” Ward said. “This is a brand that has grown organically from a user base that loves the product for its simplicity, reliability and functionality.

“My job is to help A/NZ organisations and enterprises radically transform the way their teams collaborate with Dropbox, and be competitive and successful in this fast-paced world.”

Dropbox has boasted of its “many high profile customers in Australia and New Zealand,” which includes companies such as Built, Paymark, Mirvac, Kogan.com, Campos Coffee, Dion Lee, Airtasker, Campaign Monitor, and Deliveroo.

“A/NZ businesses are forward looking and early adopters of technology, and that is reflected in the impressive adoption rates of Dropbox Business in this region,” Ward added.

“Yet we’ve only just scratched the surface - there is so much opportunity, and I’m looking forward to guiding the team through this very exciting phase of growth and expansion.”

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
