Cybersecurity business, Tenable Network Security, has appointed its first Australia and New Zealand country manager to deepen the company’s presence in the local channel.
Gordon Gakovic joins Tenable with a view to expand its footprint in the enterprise security market by growing its commercial sales and support teams, and further supporting channel partner initiatives.
Tenable vice president APAC, Gary Jackson said Gakovic has a proven track record of developing and leading highly successful sales teams, which is exactly the kind of leadership the business needs as it looks to build upon its growth in the region.
“This, coupled with his experience serving the regional market, will be instrumental as Tenable continues to invest in and expand throughout Asia Pacific," he added.
"With Gordon now onboard, we’re well-positioned to accelerate our momentum and bring innovative security technology to customers throughout the region."
Previously, Gakovic worked as managing director for A/NZ at Software AG, where he was responsible for leading and executing the company’s sales and marketing operations across the region.
Prior to that, he served in a number of sales leadership roles at Oracle and IBM.
“Organisations in Australia and New Zealand are using technology to give them a competitive edge in today’s market, but the rapid adoption of these new digital trends exposes them to threats and vulnerabilities,” he said.
“In order to provide customers with the right security technology to address these risks, vendors and resellers must collaborate with one another to right-size the necessary products and solutions.

In October last year, Tenable initiated its plans to dive deeper into the channel with the appointment of Peter Raven as its first channel manager of the region.
At the time, Jackson said the increased focus on the channel would help drive continued growth in the region.
“Peter’s ability to build and lead a highly successful channel program will help Tenable execute on its growth strategies in the region,” he said at the time.
