Two Microsoft partners in New Zealand have collaborated to offer solutions and services to Hamilton-based business, Seating To Go, taking the company to the cloud through Office 365.
Reflecting the increased need for partner-to-partner collaboration across the Kiwi channel, CT Business Solutions and Lucidity joined forces to evaluate and then deploy Microsoft cloud technologies across the organisation.
In providing specialist wheelchair and seating assessment, repair and training service, Seating To Go is contracted by the Ministry of Health and ACC, offering assessments for mobility and positioning equipment across the region.
With an ageing IT infrastructure and a growing number of staff, the business embarked on a technology future-proofing project, designed to allow staff to remain connected from anywhere, while reducing costs and improving user experience.
As a result, Seating To Go engaged the services of CT Business Solutions, a specialist small business provider with expertise across cloud services, VoIP telephone systems and onsite repairs and installations.
The Hamilton-based managed services provider - operating across the Waikato region for over 20 years - subsequently evaluated Seating To Go’s current technology strategy, recommending three options including new hardware, a hybrid cloud solution, or a full cloud service.
Through aligning with a full cloud solution implementation, fellow Microsoft partner Lucidity - formerly MHA Cloud Computing - deployed an offering including managed and supported cloud-based services, utilising Managed Desktop, the company’s scalable remote desktop platform.
“The combination of Office 365 running on Lucidity’s Managed Desktop has meant we’ve seen improved staff collaboration and productivity gains, that we attribute to higher levels of scalability, availability and reliability,” Seating To Go Finance and Administration Manager, Kelly Beale, said.
“It’s also very valuable to know that our data is now hosted at a local data centre - it was previously always a concern that our server was going to crash at any minute.
"We can be assured that in the event of a natural disaster, we have a disaster recovery plan in place and don’t run the risk of losing data.”
Following the implementation, Beale said Seating to Go is now “investigating other ways” it can engage with both CT Business Solutions and Lucidity going forward, as the company seeks it take further advantage of intelligent cloud solutions and services.
“This project is a great example of how through working in partnership, two of our partners have been able to offer more complete solutions to their customers,” Microsoft New Zealand Small and Medium Business Lead, Sarah Bowden, added.
“The customer relationship and solution has been strengthened by one partner recommending another partner with complementary expertise.”
