Ingram Micro has signed an exclusive agreement to offer Trend Micro’s commercial product portfolio in the perpetual license space across New Zealand.

“This exclusive arrangement is both recognition of the investment Ingram Micro has made in its Trend Micro business and acknowledgement of its achievement in growing Trend Micro’s share of the New Zealand market over the last 12-18 months,” Ingram Micro managing director, Gary Bigwood, said.

“We expect to continue to strengthen this relationship to further deliver unprecedented value to our combined customers.”

In a move designed to accommodate New Zealand’s growing managed service provider (MSP) and cloud-enabled reseller community, Bigwood said Trend Micro has also agreed to make its subscription license product portfolio available via Ingram Micro’s Cloud Marketplace in Q1 2017.

“As the only fully automated cloud-based license aggregation and provisioning platform supporting the local reseller channel in New Zealand, the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace will provide reseller partners with a quick, accurate and easy way to purchase and sell Trend Micro,” Bigwood added.

“We look forward to offering our channel partners solutions that will provide their customers with end-to-end protection from a recognised global leader in IT security.”

The Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace is a cloud services platform that fully automates the service delivery, customer management and invoicing of cloud services.

Through this relationship, Bigwood said resellers will have the opportunity to “quickly bring” the Trend Micro product portfolio to a wider client base by "accelerating time-to-market and eliminating operational complexities".

In addition, Bigwood said resellers will also be able to "differentiate offerings and achieve greater up-sell potential" by bundling their own services with Trend Micro and other vendors’ products such as Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.

“This exclusive collaboration further cements our commitment in the region of providing our mutual partners with the peace of mind they require when moving their customer workloads and data to the cloud,” Trend Micro A/NZ channel director, Peter Hewett, added.
