Dimension Data makes double hire as NZ digital practice launches

Dimension Data taps Spark and Sky TV to launch new digital practice division.

Dimension Data has established a new digital practice division in New Zealand, recruiting two industry specialists to drive the business across the country.

In response to an increasing appetite for digital transformation at a national level, the ICT solutions provider has brought in two digital transformation experts to lead the new division, recruiting Steve Wotten and Glen White.

Wotten, who has more than 20 years experience in technology, will lead the digital practice capability, consulting and solutions teams, working closely with White, who has a track record of delivering digital business solutions within large organisations.

White joins the company from Spark, while Wotten comes across from Sky TV New Zealand.

“In New Zealand we are seeing more and more clients face transformation at a pace never experienced before,” Dimension Data New Zealand head of digital solutions, Diljit Bolla, said.

“Businesses are recognising the need to build new customer-centric business models and we are seeing investment in digital technologies and business transformation become a top priority.”

At a local level, Bolla said Dimension Data is “investing aggressively” in digital transformation, with the New Zealand division backed by the company’s global digital practice division which boasts more than 2,000 employees.

“We are focusing on expanding our capabilities in technology platforms, including business process automation, Internet of Everything, data analytics and end customer experience,” Bolla added.

“Our global team gives us the kind of research base many New Zealand companies just can’t achieve alone.

“Globally we can invest in technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, machine learning and real-time data analytics. By also having a specialist team in New Zealand we can better introduce technologies to our clients right here.”

Within the division, Bolla said both Wotten and White will work with a “diverse local ecosystem of partners” to provide customers with services around infrastructure, applications and cloud.

“We are excited to explore the new digital frontiers with our customers in order to make a real difference to the way that they do businesses in this fast-changing environment,” Bolla added.

“We want to ensure our clients have a real competitive advantage in the digital space, drawing on our local and global IP.”

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
