New A/NZ chief on board as NetApp promotes from within

Storage vendor hands trans-Tasman reins to Glenn McPherson.

NetApp has handed the reins to Glenn McPherson as managing director across Australia and New Zealand, replacing Steve Manley at a local level.

McPherson was previously regional sales director for Victoria, NSW and Service Provider Districts, and takes over from Manley following his move to a regional role.

Prior to joining the storage vendor in 2012, McPherson held various regional and account director roles at Cisco, Genesys, Telstra, and HP.

Meanwhile, Manley now holds responsibility for the wider southeast Asian nations, alongside Australia and New Zealand.

The appointment follows news earlier this year that the vendor would be cutting 12 per cent of its workforce globally.

At the time, NetApp said the cuts were part of a strategy “to streamline its core business and reduce operating expenses.”
