Westcon-Comstor has appointed Adam Zame to the role of Business Development Manager, tasking the former Dimension Data veteran with running the distributor’s NetApp business across New Zealand.

Following specialist sales roles spanning EMC, Cisco and Hewlett Packard Enterprise technologies, Zame departs Dimension Data to help drive data centre solutions through Westcon-Comstor’s vendor portfolio.

As the national business development for NetApp, Zame is responsible for marketing and lead generation, pipeline development, storage and data management solution design and collaboration with NetApp, resellers and end-users.

“Westcon-Comstor is uniquely positioned as the only local distributor about to deliver a complete FlexPod converged infrastructure also, and coming from a data centre background, this is a passion of mine,” Zame told Reseller News.

Following internal restructuring at Dimension Data, the former Maclean Computing consultant left his role in September, following over four years of service with the global IT solutions provider.

“With recent restructures at Dimension Data, I was ready for a new challenge and a shift to another part of the industry,” he told Reseller News.

“Westcon-Comstor has been a long-term partner and I've had great success in my previous roles as a reseller,” he said.

“My goal is to build NetApp to be the premiere storage partner for New Zealand resellers in what is becoming a very interesting and dynamic part of the industry.

“I, like many others are waiting to see what develops from the merger of Dell and EMC and that uncertainty is opening up doors for NetApp to show resellers and end-users that there is stability in the world.

“NetApp’s portfolio is second to none in terms of breadth, innovation and value for money.”
