Bulletproof goes deep with Microsoft Azure launch

AWS stalwart set to launch Azure cloud services in October.

Bulletproof will launch a new Microsoft Azure offering as part of its end-to-end cloud service portfolio, in a bid to deepen its cloud product offering for customers and partners.

Despite its standing as an Amazon Web Services (AWS) stalwart, the cloud services provider is set to launch its new Azure portfolio in Australia on October 24.

Bulletproof CEO, Anthony Woodward, said the Microsoft Azure launch is part of the company’s continuing efforts to build a deeper cloud offering to customers and partners.

"We very much have focused on being an end-to-end partner, rather than on just one part of the journey,” Woodward told ARN.

“From that perspective, we already have the width, and now we’re starting to build the depth of the different cloud options needed for the journey.”

Bulletproof is well known as an AWS partner, with the company becoming Australia’s first AWS Premier Partner.

In addition, Bulletproof’s AWS posture in the local region was bolstered thanks to its multi-million dollar acquisition of New Zealand cloud services company, Cloud House, in February.

However, the company has also functioned as a Microsoft partner in the local region for years.

Now, with the official Azure partner status, Woodward said the company is responding to increasing customer demand for a broader range of cloud options.

“This is in response to an ongoing and increasing customer interest in demand for multiple options,” Woodward said.

“Just having that wider scope of offerings just means we can be more a part of that cloud journey for customers.”

Far from eating into its existing AWS business, Woodward expects the new Azure partnership to tap into new business from customers looking for something different to meet varying business needs.

“Some of our partners have, historically, come to us and said, ‘do you have something where you could operate on a different platform other than AWS, because we’ve got customers who really want to look at these other options’,” he added.
