Dell EMC broadens support for Microsoft cloud environments

Includes new cloud services, hybrid cloud system customer momentum, and new validated systems

Dell EMC has broadened support of Microsoft environments, in a bid to narrow the gap between on-premise and cloud.

Unveiled at Microsoft Ignite 2016, the move sees the vendor offer new Microsoft Azure Services, Validated Systems for Microsoft Exchange and SQL, as well as offerings around the Dell EMC Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft.

Through this alliance, Dell EMC has launched a new suite of Azure Cloud Services, which enables customers to adopt hybrid cloud services, increasing efficiencies and extending the capabilities of IT infrastructure.

The new services include Azure Back-up, Azure Dev/Test Labs and Azure Business Continuity Solution, which are hosted, managed and delivered from Azure but are backed by Dell EMC service level agreements, 24/7 tech support and service health monitoring.

The company has also included two additions to its Validated Systems portfolio in support of its service-defined infrastructure approach - Dell EMC Validated System for Microsoft, as well as the Dell EMC Validated System for Microsoft Exchange.

“For more than 30 years, Dell EMC and Microsoft have focused on delivering best in class, innovative solutions that span the entire Microsoft product portfolio to organisations all over the world," Dell EMC converged platforms solution division validated solutions organisation senior vice-president, Jim Ganthier, said.

“Together, we are working to both simplify and accelerate customers’ journey to the cloud, helping them build individualised cloud solutions that are future-proofed for business and IT transformation.”

Azure Backup, Azure Dev/Test Labs and Dell EMC Validated System for Exchange are available today, while Azure Business Continuity Solution has planned availability in October 2016 and Dell EMC Validated System for Microsoft SQL in early 2017.

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
